Brendan Phelps, President & CEO

Brendan Phelps started Carrier Access in 1997. During his tenure he has seen Carrier Access, Inc. grow significantly in customers and product offerings. Previously, Brendan led teams at Allnet, Global Crossing, and MCI, and has over 20 years of experience in the telecom industry. Brendan currently serves on the CenturyLink (formerly Qwest) Advisory Council and has been on the board since 2006.  

Shane Stark, Director of Operations

Shane Stark has worked in the telecom industry his entire career and has served as Director of Operations for Carrier Access, Inc. since 2004. During his time at Carrier Access, Inc., Shane Stark has led the company to multiple awards such as Most Efficient Back Office Support by Qwest Communications and Business Record's 2010 Best Places to Work in Central Iowa. Previously, Shane worked in multiple management roles at McLeodUSA Inc, working his way up to the Director of Account Sales for the McLeod Central Region.  Shane serves as a board member on the CenturyLink (formerly Qwest) Advisory Council and is involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters and Variety Club.

Shane Kennedy, Sales Director

Shane Kennedy has a long history of telecom sales management experience with companies like Qwest Communications and McLeodUSA. Having joined Carrier Access, Inc. as an Agent in 2002, Shane Kennedy has been responsible for significant client growth and development.  Shane became the Agent Manager in 2004.  After a successful stint as Agent Manager he was then promoted to Sales Director in 2009.  Shane currently serves on the Windstream Advisory Board and is an active member of the West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce.

Peggy Casstevens, Director of Finance and Human Resources

Peggy Casstevens joined Carrier Access, Inc. in 2001 as a Project Manager.  After the merger in 2004 she became the Director of Finance and Human Resources and has helped grow the business and develop staff members for success. She has spent the last twenty years in the telecom industry with experience in telecom project management, training, and customer service management. One of Peggy's proudest moments came when Carrier Access, Inc. was announced as a winner of Central Iowa's Best Places to Work by The Des Moines Business Record. She is involved with Animal Rescue League of Iowa and the Cancer Society.
